Olive
First press, for the oil and the night cream
Koura is one long slope of olive trees behind Tripoli, and some of them are older than the country. We take first-press oil, the same grade people cook with, because the second press is what usually ends up in cosmetics and there is no good reason for that other than cost.
It goes into the Night Cream, where it does the work that a heavy synthetic emollient would otherwise do, and a little of it into the Almond Oil for the winter batch.
Olive oil in a cream is an old idea in this country, not a new one. Everybody's grandmother did it. We are not claiming to have discovered anything.
