What is in it

Laurel from Akkar, almond from Aley.

Water, coco-glucoside, laurel oil, sweet almond oil, glycerin, citric acid. Nothing that foams for the sake of foaming.

Every ingredient 7

  1. Aquawater

    Water. It is first on a list because there is more of it than anything else, which is true of almost every cream ever made.

  2. Coco-glucosidefrom coconut

    A gentle cleansing agent made from coconut and sugar. It lifts oil without the squeak.

  3. Laurus nobilis leaf extractlaurel, Akkar

    The leaf your grandmother’s soap was made of. It calms skin that is breaking out without stripping it, which is the trick the pharmacy bottles usually miss.

  4. Glycerinvegetable

    Glycerin, from plants. It pulls water out of the air and holds it against the skin. One of the two or three things in skincare that simply works.

  5. Prunus amygdalus dulcis oilsweet almond, Aley

    A soft, unfussy oil pressed from almonds grown on the terraces above Aley. It sits on the skin rather than sinking straight through it, which is why it is the base of eleven of the twelve.

  6. Citric acidto set the pH

    Citric acid, in a quantity you could not taste, bringing the mix to the pH your skin already is.

  7. Sodium benzoate, potassium sorbateto keep it

    Sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate. Anything with water in it grows things without a preservative, and a mouldy cream is worse for your skin than any preservative ever was.

And what is not in it

  • No fragrance added. What you smell is the rose, the orange blossom or the laurel.
  • No essential oils used as perfume.
  • No alcohol denat.
  • No silicones.
  • No claim that any of this is clinically proven, because none of it has been through a clinical trial.

How to use it
  1. Half a pump on wet skin, in the morning.
  2. Thirty seconds, then rinse.
  3. It should not squeak. If it does, use less.
