What is in it

Fig leaf from Batroun, almond from Aley, zinc.

Water, zinc oxide 20%, sweet almond oil, fig leaf extract, iron oxides, glycerin, squalane.

Every ingredient 8

  1. Zinc oxide 21 per centthe filter, a mineral

    Zinc oxide. It sits on the surface and reflects. It is the filter dermatologists recommend for skin that reacts, and it is why this SPF is slightly thicker than a chemical one.

  2. Aquawater

    Water. It is first on a list because there is more of it than anything else, which is true of almost every cream ever made.

  3. Prunus amygdalus dulcis oilsweet almond, Aley

    A soft, unfussy oil pressed from almonds grown on the terraces above Aley. It sits on the skin rather than sinking straight through it, which is why it is the base of eleven of the twelve.

  4. Ficus carica leaf extractfig leaf, Batroun

    Infused, not extracted: the leaves sit in oil rather than being boiled in solvent. It is in the two things you wear in daylight.

  5. Glycerinvegetable

    Glycerin, from plants. It pulls water out of the air and holds it against the skin. One of the two or three things in skincare that simply works.

  6. Coco-caprylatefrom coconut

    A gentle cleansing agent made from coconut and sugar. It lifts oil without the squeak.

  7. Iron oxidesthe shade

    Iron oxides: the same pigments in most foundations, in four proportions.

  8. Tocopherolvitamin E

    Tocopherol. It keeps the oils in the bottle from turning, and it is good for the skin while it is doing that.

And what is not in it

  • No fragrance added. What you smell is the rose, the orange blossom or the laurel.
  • No essential oils used as perfume.
  • No alcohol denat.
  • No silicones.
  • No claim that any of this is clinically proven, because none of it has been through a clinical trial.
